man the duplex has gone over too extreme, now i understand its not suitable - "The duplex is a frictional rest escapement; - its tight tolerances and sensitivity to shock made duplex watches unsuitable for active people. " (Wiki) I am sure there is great beauty here but not is it for watches?

on the subject of duplex escapements......
i have a duplex movement with no name or numbers to identify it.....its a european (i understand it could be french)
about same as 18s.....
if anyone can give me a lead where to find info for these kinds of things please let me know.

I've always found the duplex escapement rather interesting. It's somewhat more accurate than a cylinder escapement and some can be timed to advance exactly once every second.
