Sierra feels around on the couch for her phone, dialing the number she could dial with her eyes closed.
"Hello?" the voice answers.
"G-Grace..."
"Sierra?"
"H-Hi," she says, unable to make her voice level.
"Hey, it... It's been so long."
"I k-know. How've you been?"
"I've been okay. A lot has happened since you guys moved."
"Oh, l-like what?"
"Matty, is dating some guy none of us have met. Joe, has been sleeping with any girl who's willing. And Kev and I are having another baby."
"Really? Congratulations, that's so great!" Sierra replies, her voice finally leveling.
"How're your twins doing?"
"They're doing okay," Sierra says, smiling genuinely, "Making my back hurt though," she laughs lightly.
"It's the best feeling ever, isn't it?" Grace laughs.
"Oh totally," Sierra replies with a laugh, "Gracie, I miss you."
"I miss you too, Sia... Where are you?"
"I can't tell you. And, I know that sounds really bad but I just can't. It's not that I don't trust you, or anything like that it's just... better if you don't know."
"Sierra, you're scaring me."
"I'm okay, as long as I'm here. I'm safe here."
"Are you sure? I mean, Joe told us you were crying on the phone the other day."
"Damn him," Sierra laughs weakly, "I was just being an emotional pregnant lady. But, I promise you, I'm fine."
"Okay..."
"I love you, Gracie."
"I love you too, Sia."
"I'm gonna go, okay? I'll call you later..."
"Alright. Talk soon, bye."
"Buh-bye."
