They're legitimately making a movie out of this. I'm not even joking. It's seriously being made. It's premiering at Sundance this year. Jake M. Johnson and Kristen Bell are in it.

Mullet Man was a ordinary scifi nerd until he stumbled upon a time machine with his best friend. The duo decide to put this machine to good use and plan to manipulate the past to better the present. Unbeknownst to them "time" is protected by the TimeKeepers who prevent the disruption of the arrow of time. Mullet Man and his friend are quickly attacked by the Keepers after they first use the machine. The two escape to the present only to find Mullet Man's friend was mortally wounded.

MulletMan attempts to use the machine to save his friend but soon realizes it requires two bodies to work. The panicked nerd does the next best thing; he sends out a ad in the newspaper then goes on the run, with his machine, from the Keepers. 17 years later a cynical teen discovers the ad and calls the number on a whim. With nearly 2 decades of training for and researching about the Keepers, our hero has found a partner.
