Nice video. Monorails appear to take up as much space as conventional rail in many cases. But the idea of the monorail is in the public's perception is that it is something from the "future." And where are monorails today? Disneyworld.....the (former) Seattle World's Fair, Las Vegas and....Japan. However, Japan has embraced the monorail concept as real transportation, while in the US, it's relegated to amusement parks and gimmicky locations. Interesting!

@JeffOrnstein01 Thank you for your insight. It is very interesting and I agree with you at all. There are ten monorail systems in Japan. All of them except Tokyo Disneyland are located in million cities, such as Tokyo, Osaka, Chiba, Kitakyushu. People use for daily commute and airport access.

I wonder why anyone builds a monorail. Everything about the structure looks very expensive. And setting switch points appears to be a massive undertaking!

Thank you for the comment. Yes, the structures, especially switch points, looks very expensive, however in really, the cost of the land for the general railways are more expensive and hard to complete land acquisition in the large cities. Osaka monorail mostly runs over the existing highways.
