It's amazing how "well" the Douglas airplanes were built. There are several DC-8's and DC-3's still in service with cargo airlines, and many DC-9's still servicing commercially with USA Jet Airways, Delta, and others. I'll be flying on one of Delta's DC-9-51's next week and i can honestly say i feel 100% confident it'll get me to where i need to be very safely! They were built like tanks! Good job Douglas!
