saw them often as I come from the Andover (S.England) area but will always remember the gig in Cheltenham when they "backed" Mott the Hoople & out shone them in every way. Love & treasure 4 of their vinyl albums
I just played with my friend Caleb on January 16th at my church and trust me, he is as awesome as ever on guitar, not to mention a wonderful man and very powerful speaker.
great to hear this again...i saw them at east london in 73.....there must have been 30 people in a converted cinema!.....they cranked it up and went through their repertoire with great enthusiasm!
@shemanic1 Cool, it's one of those (usually first) albums that just ain't available and Should be - another one I can't get Anywhere is the first Heads, Hands & Feet album. Got the others plus one they did Before it! - but not the classic first album. Hey, if you can post any Hookfoot, that'd be great!!.
@slideharp1 I am from the area Hookfoot came from & saw them a few times also bought both albums & 1 double since. Still got em. Coombe gallows ( named after local spot where witches were hanged, overlooking Newbury, IS a great track. Never seen the music on cd tho. May have to load em up meself
I saw Hookfoot on OGWT and bought the album soon after......sadly long gone. I wonder if their records have been re-released. The 1st one was just great. A real pretty song I'd really like to hear again is "Coombe Gallows", sung by Caleb Quaye. Also a rockin version of Stephen Stills' "Bluebird"..... Kickass Band!
I've known Ian Duck and Roger Pope since the mid 70's and its a shame they never got the recognition they deserve, an excellent blues/rock band!!!
