I raised rabbits, and have always had two females together....they never fought. They were also together as kits though and grew up together. I guess you just never know...lol

females are very teritorial. I had the same issue but I was able to separate them before any bad attacks happened. I noticed that my biggest female was snipping at all the others if they got too close. So I put them all in their own cage. They are all a ton more tame now. Before you could not pet them. All I can say is watch them and they will let you know if something is wrong.

Good vid. Thanks for sharing. Hate to see the hurt rabbit but that stuff happens. God's speed on the sprouts.

@ArboriusOwns: Oh that's good that your doe will recover nicely. Love the kiwis you started from seed. That's a good idea start some more and plant them at your Aunt's home. Those bunnies are just adorable.
I raise rabbits and at about 90 days have to single house them to stop fights..they are big enough for table use and this is when I pick my keepers for breeding..paper not good for bedding..it holds the wet and germs grow .long dry grass would be better if straw is hard to find..sad to see such a bad injury ,,I would retire this doe after young weaned .I caught ya on a Demcad comment ..I totaly agree with your views

@wizardangel This rabbit is healed up nicely & managed to jump into the cage w/ the 3 males & get pregnant again. She is definitely my kids pet she's also the best mom of the 3 w/ 5 survivors out of 8 in the new litter but the 3 died because I didn't realize she was pregnant & didn't date when it happened so no box prepped for the birth. My 2 female New Zealands should have litters this weekend & their boxs have dry grass & commercial bedding. I have the dividers up now so their all separate.

Oh how cute, those bunnies are adorable. Oh your doe is hurt. Did you stich up her back? I hope she is going to be ok. That's true the books aren't always right. I think it could be because maybe the other doe, thinks those babies are her own. Hey good you got the kiwi seeds to sprout. Right on!

@eoptravel Her back wasn't cut all the way through just the fur was torn off so no stitches. The fight happened before the babies were born. I took the other mother out and put her in her own cage about 2 weeks before they were born. Both mothers were pregnant so that might have been why they fought. Thanks for letting me know about the kiwi my girls are excited it's their favorite fruit. I might start more because I want to plant some here at home and some at my Aunts house.
