In this guide, we'll connect an IP9258 Web controlled Power switch to a network. After you unpack the box, connect the suppled Ethernet cable to the LAN port on the IP9258s unit.

1. Connect the suppled Ethernet cable to the LAN port on the IP9258s unit
2. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to a free lan port on your router
3. Connect the supplied power lead to the power socket on the read of the unit, at the left
4. Plug the power supply into an available power outlet
5. Switch on the unit
6. Connect the power lead from the device you want to control into port 1 of the 4 OUT ports
7. Insert the supplied CD into your PC's CD drive and run the IPEdit software
( see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DibZqRR4hi4 for more info )
8. In IPEDIT, you'll see your IP9258 on the left. The IP9258 is assigned an IP address from your router automatically. This IP address is visible in the third field on the right, make a note of it.
9. Open a web browser, enter the IP9258's IP address into the address bar, and hit Enter
10. Enter default user name admin, and password 12345678 when prompted
11. The I/O control is displayed. This is where the ports can be switched on or off
12. Click the radio button by Power 1 to On. Click apply
13. The light by port one on the IP9258 turns on
14. Our device, a printer, turns on
15. Click the radio button to Off and the printer turns off
16. The IP9258 is now turning a device on and off

  • I've been using mine for a few weeks with Firefox. No problems.

  • IP9258

  • The video said IP9258.

    But the title said IP9528.

Which one is the correct one?
