WRITERS ON THE VERGE selection: WEAKNESS Trailer

Suburban high school teacher Joshua Polansky (Bobby Cannavale) finds his world coming apart by degrees over summer vacation when his wife (June Diane Raphael) announces she's ready to end their marriage, and a host of other family problems rear their ugly head. Joshua's response: A full-scale retreat from adult life that involves embarking on a romance with a former student (Danielle Panabaker), who has qualms of her own about life.

WEAKNESS has a strong ensemble cast whose performances are both subtle and sexy, shaded with intelligence and dry humor. Set among the colors and textures of their suburban neighborhoods -- which alternately comforts and constrains them -- these characters must search for the answers to their uncertainty about life choices made, their attempts for connection, and the hope that with a little help, each of them will eventually make sense of their own life.
