If some guns and crazy clips were banned wouldn't it make those things harder to get? Wouldn't criminals often just do the easy, lazy thing and buy the legal, yet not quite as deadly guns? Especially if this is and effort to reduce crimes such as school shootings as the perpetrators typically are not buying black market weapons and instead they often have acquired guns through legal channels. Just my two cents.

DOJ had done a investigation into the Clinton AWB and had concluded it made zero difference in stopping criminals from obtaining these firearms and did noting to curb crime.

Could you maybe link to these studies?

I've heard that these types of studies don't differentiate between law abiding gun owners and gang members who are getting killed in gang wars. So when they're killed while armed they're tallied with law abiding people who are killed while armed.

But even if true it's not much of an argument against gun ownership no more than people who own cars are more likely to die in car crashes than those who don't.

Like I said that's just what I've heard.

In the end, it is just common sense that those with guns are less likely to fire upon unarmed then they are to fire upon armed persons. Normal people don't fire upon something that poses no visible threat.

You have police killed by grenades and guns all of the time in the UK. You have bombings in Ireland and you have gun spree murders all of the time. Your nation does not even have a Bill of Rights and it uses 4 million CCTV cameras to watch you every move. Americans don't expect people like you who live under the thumb of tyranny to understand. A guy was just gunned down in London today yet they have strict gun control. I routinely read about bombings in Ireland and police in England being ambushed by grenades and killed with guns. So are you ready to stop being a dumbass?
