  • shame mercer couldn't maybe try a few low kicks to catch his opponent by surprise

  • it was obviously a bias decision coz mercer got some preety decent punches on musashi which obviously hurtmusashi and the only thing musashi did to him was some kicks which had next to no effect on mercer

  • mercer almost had him at 3.10 if mercer was about 15 years younger he would ko this guy for shore

  • Mercer... learn to check a low kick if your going to fight k-1 ok? and ray's arm is probably broken.

  • Ray was too afraid of what was coming to even get started. He tried to turn it into a scrap and that didn't even work. Gotta hand it to the guy though, he's pretty tough for hanging in there and absobing all those heavy kicks.

  • @SeanOMatic exact, same in mixed martial arts, manny pacquiao isn't going to outstrike the guys standind that primarly use their hands too because its just not the same kind of boxing. Sameway olympic wrestlers get throw around by guys who didn't even wrestle in highschool, or guys without a belt in jiu jitsu submit guys with third degree black belts. But in their own respects, they will almost undoubtidly dominate.

  • @TreyMMA

The thing about kickboxing is you can use Muay Thai, Karate, etc. and boxers are so limited in their striking selection that a boxer vs. kickboxer is really a mismatch when a kickboxer can use all weapons. The best boxer will beat any kickboxer in a regular boxing match, of course.

  • @SeanOMatic There's a lot of kickboxers who'd knock Ray Mercer out with their hands if you can believe it or not, Musashi isn't exactly good. A, C level Kickboxer at best whooping decorated boxing champion. Kickboxers don't win "just because of kicks" but I know a boxer outboxes a kickboxer as does a kickboxer out strike a boxer.

  • This is a great example of how boxers can't just come into kickboxing. Mercer would have destroyed Mushashi in a regular Western boxing match.

  • @Diomedes22 yeah true.. except Martinez, but he's extremely gifted and a genetic freak, so a one in a billion.. I never said a UFC fighter with a year of boxing experience would last.. they'd get destroyed by a D level fighter and probably even knocked out, by a chump like Alfonso Gomez, probably while he is singing too.
