  • Hi - just picked one of these up today at a car boot. First time I've played vinyl for many years, and it brings back many happy memories! Do you know the age of this stereo? I have the same stylus as you.

  • @M15TERx l recall seeing these new in the early 80s.Glad you like the vinyl sound!

  • I still have mine. Got it when I was six

  • @TheMichiel1976 And still going well l expect.

  • @AG3304 : Don't know :) Haven't hooked it up for over 20 years. Just nostalgia.

  • @TheMichiel1976 Probably would be okay, some earlier Philips equipment dies because the old germanium transistors go phut!

  • l have an art deco thingum like that, the CD

radio and cassette sound good, but the turntable?Crap!

l seem to recall that little Dorchester of yours...

  • I've heard worse. I had a cheap little Dorchester record player which had no bass at all when playing records, probably due to the lack of RIAA de-emphasis. Its radio tuner sounded fine, but the turntable was extremely tinny. I made a few videos of it a while ago.
