jQuery Tutorial: Scroll-down Twitter Style Information Header (Part 1)

A scrolling information header with jQuery. Pops down with a message of your choice. Really easy to make and even easier to integrate into your website. Works well with Chrome, Firefox and Safari, but not as well with IE (no suprise).

this also seems to work in CSS instead of the transparent image thing

Can't you just use valign?

if you dont want to deal with the whole transparent image thing just replace

background-image: url('transparent.png');

with

background-color: lightcyan;

and carry on as normal, pretty much the same outcome.
