In 2011, The Ssubi Foundation assisted Lukoto Primary School, a very remote, parent funded and run school in Northern Uganda. This isolated school consisted of a dilapidated temporary structure and learning areas under a mango tree.
After being approached by the government, The Ssubi Foundation built a fully furnished, two- classroom block. This school now serves as a catalyst in the region. It is the first step in inspiring the community and government to work together for a brighter educational future. The school is now government supported and funded, with government teachers arriving in 2012 and student enrolment expected to reach 250.
