The Black Butterfly. All of our actions, no matter how seemingly small, have consequences. This short film features the talents of students from Ascension of Our Lord Secondary School in the Malton neighbourhood of Mississauga, Ontario. The ending of the story is based on a real tragedy that claimed the life of a young man from our community in 2010. Music by How to Destroy Angels (Dead Errant Soul Remix of The Spaces in Between) Written and Directed by James Flaherty.

  • Awesome work!! Thanks a lot for using my remix, it sounds a little bit weird for my ears with all those edits, but it fits very well, I like it, the film is really awesome, I love it, it's a film with a great message, You should have contacted me, I would have given you an "aiff" or "wave" file of the song or even the multitracks, for a better sound quality. Great work anyway! Keep it up!

  • @damiandes89 Thank you. Sorry for not getting in contact with you before - it was a bit of a rush. Your mix is fantastic - definitely the best one out there. It really set the tone I was after. The film was designed for kids at our high school here in Canada - we had a student murdered here at the community centre in July (as depicted at the end of the movie) and I wanted to try to make something positive out of a random, tragic situation. I really appreciate the use of your music. Peace

  • @CcOoRrYy33 The intention of the story is to illustrate how seemingly small, inconsequential actions can sometimes set off a chain reaction with unimaginably tragic consequences. I was hoping to get people to think before they do something mean to somebody else. The shooting at the end of the film is based loosely on a real life tragedy that struck our community last year. Hope that helps explain it a bit more. Peace
