part 2 of my beloved black craftsman 675 series lawnmower showing in detail my homemade filter cover window. I used a dremel rotary tool to cut a hole in a suitable place of the filter cover, applied double-sided mounting tape to the inside and stuck a piece of plexi-glass to it. I think used chrome trim from the auto parts store to wrap around the hole outline.
Hey where did you get that fake chrome stuff from? looks like the same stuff on our 1978 Dodge van around the windows, and it needs some new fake chrome trim.

@1972FordF150 Found it at Advance auto parts store. I had bought it to make a window on my computer but then I was looking around in Sears and I saw that a few of the filter covers on their newer lawnmowers had windows in them. I decided that if I could make my own, it would look better with chrome and I could also make the window bigger.

@Command37 You bought that stuff off the shelf? I like this idea so you don't have to take the filter cover off to see if the filter is dirty lol

@1972FordF150 exactly. just be sure to seal the window with clear silicone so that it doesn't change the airflow that much.
