I don't agree that Unions have no responsibility for job loss. EVERYONE has responsibility. Companies (for or non profit), Government for the impact of decisions and laws they make and Unions for negotiating terms that are short term and unrealistic and not long term for continued employment. I have friends/family who were (past tense and never again) union members, lost their jobs to preventable plant closures because of short term thinking. Not to a off shore country but to the US! with laws
And that Joe is why we're fighting to keep decent paying jobs in Canada. The union doesn't have a responsibility in job loss or plan closures. We have NAFTA to thank for that. Offshore countries have no human rights, health & safety or environmental legislation to protect it's workers or environment. Production and labour are both very cheap when there's no regard for anything but profit.....As for your sick days, glad to hear you're healthy.
passionate but way out there. Wake up people take some responsibility for your (and I mean Union) part in the responsibility for loss of jobs and plant closings! look at the city of Toronto those people get more sick days a year than I would take in 10! If that was a private business it would have long move off shore.
this is agreat video, Marie certainly does deliver a passionate speach. On issues that matter to working people there is no greater voice...Thanks Marie let's hope the government hears your message.
