Tribute to Phil Jevons 42 goals in 84 games 2004-2006.
About Jevo-
Phillip "Phil" Jevons (born August 1, 1978 in Liverpool, England) is an English football player for Football League One side Huddersfield Town. He is mainly remembered by football fans for scoring a 45 yard wonder goal in extra time for Grimsby Town against Liverpool in the Third round of the English League Cup, the game finished in a 2-1 win for Grimsby

Jevons is a product of the Everton F.C. Academy and became one of the stars of their youth side, scoring 55 goals in 91 youth team games and winning the FA Youth Cup in 1998. He failed to make much impact on the first team however, and on July 2001, he was sold to Grimsby Town for £250,000. Whilst at Grimsby, Jevons found his scoring boots and hit 24 goals before being sent out on loan to Hull City in September 2002 for financial reasons. He remained on the other side of the Humber until the end of that season, scoring 4 goals, before returning to Grimsby. He is mainly remembered by Town fans for scoring "that" goal in the 2-1 League Cup win over Liverpool at Anfield in which he scored a 45 yard wonder goal in extra time after The Reds had led the tie. He joined Yeovil Town in a deal worth £600,000 in June 2004 and became a leading scorer for the club - in 2005, he was joint top scorer in all four divisions with 27 league goals.

He joined Bristol City after a free transfer from Yeovil Town in the summer of 2006.

On 22 November 2007 he went to Huddersfield Town on a month's loan. He made his debut two days later, as a substitute in Town's 1-0 loss against Leyton Orient at the Galpharm Stadium. On December 1, he scored his first two goals in a 3-0 against his former club, Grimsby Town to send Huddersfield through to the third round of the FA Cup. His first league goal for the Terriers came against his parent club's rivals, Bristol Rovers. Then on Christmas Eve, Jevons's loan was extended until 19 January 2008.[1] However, on 10 January Jevons was signed for £100,000, that could double to £200,000 depending on appearances and whether Town win promotion, on a deal that takes him until summer 2010.

  • the strickers we have now are shit but wen bowditch gets fit it will solve are stricker problems

  • The strikers we have now are far from shit. Obika has bags of ability and potencial, Tomlin is a neat little impact player who is good to have in your squad and Williams is a very good target man who holds the ball up very well, hes not a goalscorer mind.

  • he scored most from the penalty spot and if he is so good why is he playin in league 2 for morcame

  • Oh yeah penalties are easy to score aren't they, its his fault we won so many that season. Jevons is at Morecombe on loan to build up his confidence which was lost in Huddersfield rotational system. Confidence can do a lot for a striker, just look at Gary Hooper.. Huddersfield are loaning him down to get the most profit for him and he'll most likely be going to a league 1 side.

Oh and plus hes scored in his last 4 consecutive games down there btw.

  • he was ok in league 2 but he was shit in league 1.

  • You have got to be sh*tting me!!!

29 goals in one season is "ok"? And 15 goals in an injury prone league 1 season is crap?

What the hell does that say about the players we have now?!

see all
