  • Christian Holiness has alot going for it. Followers are expected to totally abstain from alcohol, drugs, and violence. They are expected to be kind and compassionate to everyone, including "sinners" and Christians of other traditions. Holiness congregations strictly enforce these expectations on themselves. If people could quit fixating on the "Signs Following" they would see just how Christ-like most Holiness folks are.

  • Did the man that got snake bit survive?

  • I believe that ephesians says "be infant in the things that are evil and the things of God be an adult" and i believe it is talking about arragance and maturity. The bible clearly says to be Christlike in all that we do and Jesus didn't worship with snakes. Amen and thank you Lord

  • I saw this intriguing film years ago in a college sociology of religion class. Really pleased to see it again here. I don't doubt the depth of conviction of these people. Appalachia is not nearly as poor as it was in 1967, however. The mountains are no longer so isolating. Modern culture must have had its effects on Appalachia and I wonder if there is much snake handling there these days.

  • this video is something else. the fact that people are inspired by these dangerous rituals even to this day is insane to me. it's like nothing can get through to them. little kids handling rattlesnakes, with babies in the same room. tossing rattlesnakes to one another. it's simply ridiculous and embarrassingly primitive. but an excellent film, nonetheless.

  • I saw this video in class today..Really Intense!

  • Most of the people that are watching this are here to gawk. But I tell you these people have the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and it is real...it is a very beautiful experience...can't you tell by the way these people talk about God?

  • Focus on the Holy Spirit working in these people...the Bapitism of the Holy Spirit is evident in their works..meaning how they live their life...loving their neighbor, not ruining their body and life with alcohol and drugs..which is a very selfish road...it hurts others that you are around. The speaking in tongues is gift..as is healing and prophesy...the handling of snakes is going too far....in my opinion.

  • That guy's hand swoil up real good!

    Amazing Film!

  • @FergusonTO35

Any suggestion on where I can find more info. Sounds interesting Ferguson.

  • For the snake handler, the most dangerous place in the world is the church house. I thought it was supposed to be a sanctuary.
