Back to school time is a great opportunity for starting healthy routines. Samantha Kiley Ficcaglia, MPH, Health Promotion program director, AtlantiCare, Health Engagement, discusses how you can help the student in your life have a healthy start to the school year in this NBC 40 Health Update with Robin Stoloff.

Kiley Ficcaglia leads AtlantiCare's Healthy Schools/Healthy Children Program and its Child Weight Management Program and collaborates with AtlantiCare's Health Engagement Department in other community health and wellness initiatives. She previously served as Child Health and Wellness manager, AtlantiCare.

Kiley has led AtlantiCare's Healthy Schools Program since its inception as a pilot project in 2004. Aimed at working with a handful of schools to combat the epidemic of obesity, it now assists more than 40 local schools. She develops curriculum and administers training for schools, families and the general community highlighting the importance of physical activity, nutrition and psychological well being. She assists schools/districts in developing, organizing and executing health and fitness plans and events; developing and implementing tools to monitor results; researching and preparing grants and developing revenue to support program offerings.
