Columbia is in South America. She is part Lebanese, but she was born in S. America..making her South American or better...Columbian. You need a map. Spain has a much more pure form of the Spanish language. .

I love to watch TV in Spanish, with Spanish sub-titles on... and movies with English sub-titles when possible. Español es un idioma hermosa para escuchar! Although, my command of it is not very good yet.
Of course Shakira is not Spanish! She SPEAKS Spanish! She IS una mujer latina....

ignorant americans...think Spanish and Latino are the same..though I like Shaira and have nothing against her...she is Latino..NOT SPANISH..type Heroes del Silencio on youtube for example and listen to good Spanish rockband .....also..get a passport..travel, read, watch Spanish films with (god forbid subtitles).... educate yourselves...Spain is in EUROPE!

Shakira is from Colombia, and not from Spain, Spain is in Europe.
