C.S. Lewis' "The Screwtape Letters" Narrated by John Cleese.
The Screwtape Letters is a satirical Christian apologetics novel written in epistolary style by C. S. Lewis, first published in book form in February 1942. The story takes the form of a series of letters from a senior demon, Screwtape, to his nephew, a junior "tempter" named Wormwood, so as to advise him on methods of securing the damnation of a British man, known only as "the Patient".

  • I just wanted to thank you for posting this. My audio Book was eaten in the tape player, and I have dearly missed listening to this. Thanks so much.

  • @uzumaki38 Your very welcome, I'm glad you're enjoying these !

  • I'm afraid that John Cleese's vocie lacks the certain diabolic quality necessary for the part of Screwtape.

  • @AxelWallengren I feel John Cleese went for a more sophisticated and intelligent manner of speaking rather than an evil and "diabolical" way of speaking only because if he were to go for the evil and scary sound, it would have contradicted the message of the book. This book is written to give us a look behind the curtain Satan and his Demons put up to misguide us, I.E A demon is thought as scary and powerful, when, in reality; demons are totally powerless without the permission of God.
