This is from the first "Young Messiah" CD in 1989. The original First Call contributed a song and recorded a video for the project. Their clothes sure were "rad" back then, weren't they?

I'd far rather not have Handel heard by anyone than to have it presented in this way. It bears little resemblance to the real thing. This is like displaying a crayon rendering of the Mona Lisa so that a "new generation" would get to experience it -- better not to see it. A trite, tacky imitation of Messiah. Leave it alone and do something real.

This would be 100 times better if they had real instruments. I actually kind of like the arrangement; the midi accompaniment and the studio processing are, in my opinion, the biggest problems.

The studio done so much to their voices and stacked them so many times it sounds funny. I also thought it was terrible. I like the original sound of the Messiah not this type.

This is horrendous. I can't wait until people look back on the 2000/2010's and say "yup, that stuff was pretty terrible" because that's what I do to the 80's. Somehow the 90's got it just right!
