  • Can you use a plastic tub instead of contiboard and use this method to mould a hand or does it take too long to set?

  • HI A plastic tub can be used although we cannot recommend using this for moulding body parts, for body casting we recommend using Alginate which we also supply on our website in our craft section, please see web address at the end of this video or click our link on our channel

  • HI Gazeebo88, you can adjust the shape of the outer walls of the former to reduce the amount of silicone needed, for example for this mould i could have angled the corners of my box former and made the housing more hexagonal in shape reducing the amount of silicone needed, Alternatively a thickening agent can be mixed with the silicone so that it can be painted on than backed with a plaster and bandage to form a shell to hold its shape.

  • Can you mix smaller quantity so you just use what you have to for your mold?

Would hate to waste any silicone
