Online dating has created a whole new kind of relationship. Long distance relationships are exciting at first, but they are very difficult to sustain. This video describes the primary reason why.

  • you forgot to define long distance.

  • Lots of these relationships don't work because men tend to prefer to look around for options evenf if they're WITH the girlfriend physically as you say. I think it's just a natural thing to look for another woman, basically something you do always, albeit sometimes unconsciously. But the you make a good point about the presence of the girl for the man, I agree, extremely important.

  • As a man I would think that in a long distance relationship puts the man in a favorable position because if he ever wants to break up (lack of sexual interest) he has an easy way out since the nature of the relationship is vulnerable. Surely something to beware of for women.

  • The long distance relationship should NEVER EVER turn into a long term long distance relationship because that is a contradiction in terminis, you can stretch a feeling as long as you want but it will mentally rot. Some people are going to tell crap about how love can ONLY thrive on spiritual togetherness.

HIding from the undisputable fact that a human being is both coporeal and mental is as bad as playing a role on the internet to make the other feel like you're really something.

  • omg i'am a man then!

  • @DarkAssassin2259 They've gotten through all the hardships from the LDR, so now that it's a SDR, it's easy sailing from there comparied to all of the worrying and crying and wondering about whatever. 3 months in and, of course, I've wondered if we would last, but then I think "this is the best thing that has ever happened to me, I will make it last". So, when November comes, I'll make sure to soak in and bask in the presence of my girlfriend :3 I love my Jessica baby <3 my beautiful princess <3

  • "Women can fill in the gaps" - Just ask what you want to know so that way you won't be dissapointed :P

I agree with the men part, up to the pulling away. The relationship I have with my girlfriend is too good to just throw away because it get difficults sometimes. I knew right from the get go that it was going to be hard...REALLY hard. But see, this is where the magic is, this is what keeps a couple together once they are finally together forever.

  • I'm a guy in an LDR and what was said about guys in this video is true. For me, what started out as so exciting and romantic has ended up ripping me apart inside. The distance is just too much. When a man really falls for a woman, he needs her by his side often - not a just a few times a year. In an LDR, you're fighting a losing battle against your own human nature. It is a vicious cycle because the deeper you fall in love, the harder it becomes to maintain the relationship due to unmet needs.

  • There is truth here, but there are always exceptions.

  • So very true. I could not handle a long distance relationship for the reasons she stated
