  • I like it even more then season 1 - 8 theme

  • I don't like this reworked theme, the opening titles needed to be changed because the original ones were dated (Scully's ever-changing hairstyle), although i know they were altered slightly for Season 8 for the arrival of Robert Patrick. I don't know about anybody else but i can tell when the show moved filming from Canada to LA, the atmosphere is different, along with sharper wardrobes for David and Gillian, plus she slimmed right down, typical Hollywood.

  • oops no it wasn't my ringtone

  • What I do like about Seasons 8 and 9 is the return to a more serious type of show. Season 7 had some decent episodes but is the weakest. I thought it went too light hearted after season 4.

  • @DaveyC95 Well I just ordered season 9 so I guess I'll see in two days

  • @PrinsTan As I said on a previous post, the opening titles changed slightly for season 8 when Robert Patrick joined the show and some of the shots had to be changed and updated..But, it was season 9 when they changed the opening titles and music completely and I do not like it..It no longer feels anything related to Mulder and Scully and it was their show..RP and Annabeth Gish were good, but the emotional rollercoaster of the series belonged to Gillian and David.

  • @DaveyC95 And most episodes start happening in southern states where it hardly ever rains - blue skies and CA or FL based investigations

and season 8's titles are very different to me (music + images)

  • @NancyPelosi1954 Yes I know, That is what I meant when I said that I could tell when it moved to LA from Vancouver, Canada...I don't know about the sets being more realistic in LA, as I think there were more location-set episodes in real houses and buildings in the early seasons rather than the later studio interior sets at Fox..Certainly the more disturbing because of the rainy, marshland they used which gave the show an eerie atmosphere..I know that both David and Gillian commented on this.

  • @DaveyC95 It was season 6 when they moved to L.A. the lighting and sets got sharper to. The sets and wardrobe got at least more realistic, but the Canadian filmed years were the most creative and disturbing seasons I think.

  • Everytime I listen to this version I keep thinking I have a text message on my phone..

  • @fattybastard2000 For the most part, it does. It has a few decent MOTW episodes, but none that can be considered "a classic". Season 7, which I think is even worse, at least has some great episodes, but it's dragged down by horrible, unwatchable stuff like FPS, Fight Club, Chimera, etc.

As for the music intro, I think the only real difference is that the theme for season 9 was given a different sound mix, to give it more oomph.
