Being in the TV repair business, naturally I going to see the worst of TVS, so perhaps I'm wrong to conclude that most LCD TVs don't seem to last over four years, but this is the impression I'm getting.
Compared to the older cathode ray tube TVs it's surprising the short life that LCD and Plasma TVs last.
Just last week I saw an older style Curtis Mathes CRT TV that was 25 years old and still working okay. It did need a simple repair a few years ago but otherwise the picture still looked pretty good. Just for the record the model was A2634RP.

I thought it would be interesting to hear from others. Does anyone here have an LCD TV that made it past 4 years?

Yes they are Two completely different TV's. I don't think you will find to many people using LCD projection TV's for their computers although it can be done as long as you have compatible inputs and outputs.

Toshiba 46zv555db bought Jan 09, faint black horizontal lines appeared in one half of screen March 13. I assume it is effed going what I'm reading online. £1000 down swanny after 4 years. Not acceptable really. I stilk have the 32" CRT it replaced, no problem there and its 12 years old.
