This is my HP Pavillion 9385ea with Geforce 7600 Go crashing once the video card has got warm. After about 10 minutes of use the screen goes blank and then it blue screens, and continually reboots and then blue screens. There is also corruption on the screen which can be seen on the bios screen, this is on the Vista boot screen but cant be seen as well. This is apparently a very common fault on HP Laptops if you read various forums, but not if you speak to HP.

From what I have read there is a class action suit against HP over these laptops now as there have been many who have had the same problem. There is also a solution to this which involves heating the graphics chip up to 210 C to reflex the solder on the chips.

HP steadfastly refused to repair my machine because they swore this was limited only to AMD processor machines, again this has been proven to be false as forums are full people with the same problem on Intel machines.

I no longer have this machine as despite its massive price tag new, its junk and totally useless.

  • UPGRADE Vista to Windows 7

  • @jmilan2003 wouldnt be much point as its a hardware problem

  • i have the same problem:/

  • if thats the case and you have graphics corruption then the graphics card is broken. Its over heated and there is something wrong now with the join to the motherboard. In the end I sold mine to someone on fleabay who knew how to fix it. HP's stance on this was that it only affected the Athlon models with Nvidia cards, not Intel therefore wouldnt fix it.
