@Jitpring Gould wasn't a genius of playing the piano but a genius of learning how to play the piano. The techniques he used to improve his technique were way ahead of his time.

@kiplingfan1971 Yes, today's insane egalitarianism demands such explanations. Many simply can't accept that such superior talents can exist, for such extraordinary talents indict their own militant mediocrity. Thus they medicalize this talent away, making it not a matter of a gift, but of pathology. Just as vice has been pathologized, so is virtue being pathologized. Such is the brave new world.
