I removed my comment because I was too stupid to realize the hole is to mount on a tripod LOL - I just wanted to know if it was okay to dip it in a cup of water. And yes, this camera works underwater. Great camera!

@InflatableConan2 That hole you see, If it is about 5mm across and abit more in depth is the screw hole to mount the camera to a tripod base. The holoe has two very small screws next to it. Any other holes then mi sure their not meant to be there. Not sure why your comment has been romved but still tried to reply anyway. :)

@ladymjackson001 Nothing at all, just make sure both battery on sd card doors are locked and away u go. :-)

question: do you have to do anything to it before or after using it in water to make sure it'll work again?
I have one but I'm scared to try again

i got i on sale and used a cupon for $120. so its totally good under waterproof?
I have had it for almost 1 year now. never tried underwater.

@golfstud22ful its totally waterproof! we take ours to the waterparks, the beach, basically anywhere water might be a problem. We get some really good shots with it as well.

its cool as hell definitetly worth the 180$ we paid or it... the pics are crisp and the vid is smoother the most of the other cameras ive seen
