Part two (the BEST stuff!) is on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0DzqiWwOO8&feature=channel
Max Rosenberg and Milton Subotsky (Amicus prods) were two American producers who wanted to cash in on the success of the Hammer horrors, but since Hammer already had the gothic market sewn up, they decided to revive a format that had done well in the Forties - the portmanteau movie.
The short stories their efforts contained were variable in quality and the linking stories mostly lame. However in '67, they managed to secure the services of the great Burgess Meredith, who CHEWED on the Robert Bloch script!
In fact the LINKS in Torture Garden are the BEST bits, so this piece consists of ALL Mr Meredith's links stitched together - and includes the end of the best story (in part two).
Also here, is the pop-eyed Michael Ripper - Hammer's lucky charm (maybe they just liked his name!) Hammer never contracted actors, thus Amicus would often use them. But it's Burgess' show. Enjoy!
great actor

You're RIGHT! Burgess may have been well advanced in years when he made this film, but he had STYLE, CHARISMA - in short SEX APPEAL!
