I cut off 9 inches off the blades... It sitlls works, but that's a big reduction in swept area. Doesn't work so well in low winds now.
It's just project #1 great learning by experience. I'll build a new one soon.

Yeah, we have many old ones out here in the California desert where we live. Most are in disrepair as wells are now all submersible pump electric, and new windmills all electric power producing connected to the grid, tho some are still used in isolated locations.

At the moment I only make waterpumpers,this one was made for a mussel farmer at Coromandel N.Z.
