London Heathrow Airport IRIS Eye Retinal Scanner

I been meaning to sign up for IRIS (retinal scanner) last year when it was being beta-tested but I kept on forgetting. Finally I remembered on this trip abroad. Here is me coming back into the UK via the IRIS system. Went through the UK Borders in less than 10 seconds, without taking out my passport from my pocket, and skipping those long queues you see. This also reminds me of the eye-scanners in the PC game Half-Life. It works quite well too even with glasses on.

Very good system, but it still has some issues, I tend to use it when I can.

However it's a bit pointless if you use it at terminal 1 at Heathrow, the baggage system is so slow you have to wait a year for your bag...

Yeah, youtube slowly getting more videos now on Iris recognition... on other devices though... more videos on that controversy body scanner..

problem is that heathrow security workers are not being monitored by higher security. Secuirty and airport officials can gain acces to aircraft areas with key cards swiping and codes. WHat if a terrorist is working at the airport in security job. I think we really must keep all workers at the airport under scrutiny and especially people who refuel the planes and baggage loaders. Baggage handlers are usually the ones whi slip stuff into peoples luggage. Keep them under scrutiny

completely harmless . i don't know what's all the fuss is about. i think people just like to be difficult. You show your passport and they type it in the computer. you drive through the boarders. the information is the same, the proses is faster now.
