Just powering some rudiments around the kit as a warm-up.
Includes: Single-stroke crossovers, split doubles & paradiddles, triplets, ruffs, flams and flam-taps. Be sure to check out my regular solo (after warming up!)

  • well... thats an awesome rack man!!!! Love the snare Sound ....tnaks alot and you reply did really help alot...

  • @db35m Yeah, you can only see it briefly. But if you pause the video at certain spots, it's easier to check out. Cost me $1,000 back in the early 70's. Needless to say, it was ALOT of money back then. But worth every penny, every time I had to move the set. Saved me HOURS each set-up.

  • Coool& NICE!!!!!

  • Thanks!

  • Great kit! And nice solo before the solo :P

  • @a2sidedcoin Thanks! Yeah, they are very crisp and tight. But I guess not for everyone, (if you read some of the other comments!) All you need is leg hardware, (preferably matching your own kit's). Then drill away and attach the legs. I couldn't find a snare or tom stand that went low enough.

  • @17drums was wondering if that was a marching snare!! EXCELLENT man! I always wanted a marching snare for a snare on my kit

  • After the half-hour it took you to get started, it was still incredibly boring.

  • Thanks! That's a Pearl marching snare that I put legs on. It's crisp and tight. That's why I like it. It doesn't forgive mistakes. Glad you like it too. But, to each their own, I guess!

  • Funny how people have different ears. I really like the dry sound of your snare. Nice flow around the kit.

  • Thanks!

  • Fantastic stuff man. 5 stars again!

  • Nice kit and good playing

  • Thanks! If we lefty's are doing our own thing--marching to the beat of a different drummer--then I wonder who THAT drummer is!

  • Lol, at all the jams I've been to, I've never heard a left-handed drummer sound so tight! haha! Don't know why... seems they are all doing their own thing :) I used to play a left-handed set! Lol very nice by the way!

  • Thanks. This was my first video, and I was using the camera's mic. So it may not have picked up the snare well. Also, the snare is not the Fibes one for the set. On this video I was using a marching snare for the crispness of the attack and quick decay.

  • your kit sond perfect, the only thing bad is the snare, i like the sound of the wood snares but you are awesome playing the drumms

  • Thanks! It's a lefty set-up so I'm sure it looks very strange to righties. As a lefty though, it's a breeze to play. Everything is right there. The sound on this solo was from just using the camera's mic. I shot this video before I bought mics and a board for this set.

  • Your kit sounds awesome, especially with your playing haha! But I sorta dislike your setup, but I guess that´s all preference ;)

    5*

  • Sounds like fun! Right now I'm working on a hand/foot independence solo with 6 foot pedals on my smaller jazz set. But I also have a Roland TD-12 with 2 extra drum pads and an extra cymbal. Not sure how to handle the logistics of a battle, though. After the current video, I plan to do another 'Training' video on writing a stand-alone Youtube solo. Then I'll work on an electronic solo. If you do a new one also, we can swap! How's that? Probably easier than a call and response across the 'Pond'!

  • If I had an acoustic kit, I would say we should do a drum battle video together... unfortunitly the battle is over before its even started with our equipment comparison :-)

  • The truth? Honestly? Ha! Thanks, again, Eddie!

  • I like this also. I started out on drums and played them in high school many years ago. But you are the truth!! 5*****!

  • Thanks! Your uncle's a lefty, too? How about you? Does your uncle have any videos up? I love to see his kit as well as his playing.

  • That was great dave
