BSL:UPTAKE (www.bsluptake.org.uk) is a British Sign Language and English resource for the Deaf community, public servants, politicians, researchers and academics. It was funded by the Scottish Funding Council and created by the Department of Languages & Intercultural Studies, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, in partnership with the Scottish Government Equality Unit, other universities and Deaf organisations in Scotland. It is building up a library of materials and contacts for expert advice, which will lead to the improvement of public policy in relation to Deaf people. The BSL:UPTAKE BSL Blog is about issues of interest to Deaf people and their families, including parents of D/deaf children. Anyone can respond to the BSL Blog. All Blogs and other materials have English translations/texts on the BSL:UPTAKE website: www.bsluptake.org.uk
