  • My grandmothers family were from calumet, they were the Penhalls. Senora my grandmother worked as a nurse at the hospital

  • I will live here before I die. I love it in Copper Country.

  • My mothers father lived here around 1905-1907. Then he moved back to Sweden to Tärendö in the north of sweden. I think it have impacted my life more than I know. His two sisters stayed, so I got relatives in Michigan and USA.

  • Do you live here? I was told that in the early 1900's this was the largest Croatian populated city in all of North America, U.S.. My Great, Great Grandfather and Great Great Grandmother, their children and My other Great Grandfather are all Croatian and lived in Greenland, not too far from here. The men all worked at the Victoria Cooper Mines. This is how I came across this video. Thank you for posting.

  • Still, it could be said that Calumet has done well to survive at all. Many mining towns, once the mineral they're mining dries up, it is usually a ghost town within 10 years. Yet these people were wise enough to use tourism to survive

  • Very well done, very sad, I'm from Kingsford and enjoyed it. Thanks
