Thousands marched in Tunis on Saturday in support of the government - it was a show of strength a day after the funeral of an assassinated secular politician drew the biggest crowds seen on the streets since Tunisia's uprising two years ago. One government official said this was a warning to those who sought to dissolve the government, 'We won a democratic election, but we are not afraid to go back to the streets'. The moderate Islamic Ennahda party won elections in 2011 and shares power with two secular parties in a coalition that has been a model of democratic transition in the region. Al Jazeera's Jonah Hull reports from Tunis.

Education lagged for the past 30 years all the education these people had is from the Middle East channels. They don't even know their own Tunisian history or culture. that's the recipe for disaster and extremism. And that flag has NOTHING to do with the Prophet Go READ a book so you can speak intelligently about a beautiful religion that is Islam. A religion that was the cloth of peace, education, justice for women and anyone who needed protection. NOT murder and NOT terror. God bless Tunisia

That was my first thought. Government supporters fly the black flag of jihad? They aren't pro-government as much as they are anti-secular then.
