Fascinating documentary in which primates are observed to exhibit a plethora of social displays and emotions, ranging from non-reciprocated altruism (both inter- and intra-species) to gleeful deception, from reverential awe to brutal aggression, and from syntactic communication to basic empathy. Part of a series filmed for BBC4 called "Of Apes and Men".

  • Thank you SO SO SO much for sharing this with us, just incredible!

  • Thats why in my opinion politics were and are primitive but in the same way immportant for the time .. But maybe someday people will understand that there is place for all off us and we can drop our primitive behaviour and develop non political system even more complex that will benefit humanity in much better way than politics doo.

  • great documentary

  • Scientists who still believe animals dont have feelings are just plain idiots. Talk about being braindead.

So if a dog barks and growls, its not angry? Then if it doesnt have feelings, then waht exactly is it growling about? Animals have basic emotions and feelings just as humans do. Simple as that. No need to psycho analyse these things and interpret them in a different way.

    Its common sense.

  • they need to make more docos about this

  • Great documentary! I wish I could give it 5 stars.

  • @frankystein12

I have a feeling after watching this, that it was only the more abstract words we learned that made us religious, and that we at the time were no smarter than chimpanzees about the world.

  • @MaxSafeheaD

Each generation does such, in both humanzee and chimpmanzee. XD

  • I think tthe first and most important lesson we need to re-learn is the best thing that can be done with knowledge is to freely share it.

  • It's ironic that species with high intellect would have need for a low intellect behaviors that transformed into superstition and religion.

  • What a great documentary

  • Great doc. Very insightful. Cheers.
