@FliegenKlappen Yes, that is a Capitals uniform. He played his first 8 seasons with Washington, then one with St. Louis. After that he started with NJ.

@Jizzi99 nope, shanny looked at this and publicly stated this is still LEGAL. people seem to have trouble understanding why this is and still is legal. this was not a blindside hit, he went north/south on him, and the principal point of contact was not the head. i guess thats why shanny said he wouldnt have suspended him for this hit in TODAYS nhl. the only reason you dont see hits like this today is the same reason you didnt back then unless it was scotty throwing it, he was one of a kind.

Strange how nobody from the Islanders went after Stevens! Scotty was also a tremendous fighter early in his career, he fought often with the Caps. Letting him go was one of the biggest mistakes in franchise history. They kept Kevin Hatcher and his purse instead to replace the great Rod Langway as captain.

@QibingZero no you are wrong, ask shanny the new sheriff in town, every hit stevens ever threw on video was recently reviewed by the league and NONE were said to be a suspension, and only one was said to be debatable being the karyia hit. and the debate on that hit would be the same as it has since it happened, was it too late, most say no some say yes. either way it wasnt a suspension then and isnt now. watch closely there buddy the hits they are talking about are very different.....

Seriously..Scott stevens' shoulder was more vicious than anybody's elbow. Clean but devastating.
