Isabelle Geoffroy's great interpretation of Edith Piaf's famous song (music: Jacques Datin; lyrics: Edith Piaf; 1946).
When the song was first published in 1946 it caused some discussions: Some interpreted the end of the song as a statement about the religious feelings of a whore. Others, however, interpreted it as referring to the girls suicide...
It was this discussion - and of course Edith Piaf's lifestyle in general - that made the Archbishop of Paris to deny a burial mess for her after her death in 1963. Nevertheless more than 100.000 people attended the ceremony at the cemetary and tens of thousands fans lining the streets made the Parisian traffic come to a complete stop.

  • Love it, but i think all the movement in the video distracts from the song.
