When I boot from usb, it asks me to choose language used for the instillation process. What if I just want to run it from the usb, i dont want to install it on my hard drive.

Hi, since it does not touch the hard drive your Windows installation stays intact. This is unless you choose to install Ubuntu on the hard drive.
As for the USB wearing out that is just not possible. I have never seen that happen. Trust me if it did by some weird chance it would have happend to me already since I use USB flash drives so much.
