That is what keeps me from achieving peace. I decided I wanted to know how the system functioned. That was probably the dumbest thing I ever decided to do. It has damaged me, irreparably, psychologially.

If you understand how fucked up the system is in order to make people's lives miserable, I doubt you would be able to achieve peace. It would seem that a rational person would deduce it's inherently bad being that way, and would strive to change it.

Yes, thanks for your comment, swen. Nothingness was probably the wrong word to use here, it is quietness and clarity that would better suit what I'm talking about.

perhaps "nothingness" is not the most accurate way of describing it, i know. More of an absence of mind clutter to see things clearer is what I meant by this
At 3min 15sec could what you are saying be phrased as "Ignorance is Bliss". Gaining knowlegde of complex processes of relating to our world seems at first desirable, but one loses their "innocence" when they see things in others that they don't initially care for.

Not necessarily "ignorance is bliss", rather an awareness of certain elements of our lives, our reality, and making the best out of the fog we sometimes get stuck right in the middle of(counter-prductive mind clutter, negative people, difficult obstacles), and obtaining a state of mind where everything is acknowledged yet not bothersome to you is a perhaps a healthy thing.

At 4min 45sec you've used the word SELFISH as though it was a 'bad' thing. Then you say something like you're 'at peace with' that seems to indicate an awareness that in some cases SELFISH is not a bad thing.
This is my 2nd video I've seen of you. You have some interesting philosophical thinking patterns going on.

interesting interpretation...I guess I can mostly agree with that, when I say that I'm at peace with certain things, I mean that I accept things, people for what they are and not let them dilute or even chip away at my own sense of well-being, as challenging as that is sometimes; other people's miserable attitudes and problems shouldn't have to become mine. I hope that's the part of the video that you're referring to.

Your nothingness seems akin to a near meditative calm, a point of momentary stasis wherein listening to and trusting yourself is paramount, and extraneous irrelevancies are excluded. An enviable, admirable and mature place to be. Much more positive than the word implies.

yes, its hard to find the right word, so that's partly why I included the word "everything" to make a point. I'm glad you get it though, thanks for the comment, Phil!
