This is Glenn, the Alpha male of the group of 13 at the LA Zoo. The group has 5 males and 8 females. Recently, as very common with this group and groups in the wild, there was a violent fight for dominance. All the males got involved, including the 2 mothers. The males were all hurt, but especially Glenn and his bigger brother Shaun. After a short period away from the rivals, consisting of brothers Jerrard (a one time Alpha male of the group) and Ripley (who wants to be Alpha male) while they all healed from their wounds, the full group was back together again the day before this video. It seemed on the 13th, that Shaun strutted himself while his brother Glenn still didn't feel up to it. Shaun was one time Alpha male, but handed it over to his brother since he didn't care for the drama. Shaun is the biggest of the unit, and normally sticks up for his brother, allowing Glenn to continue as Alpha male. But, this day, the 14th, Glenn was feeling himself, and strutted around piloerect (hair standing up), making noise, and giving quite a show of dominance. No one challenged him, and so after awhile, he went back to the group, all others came near, and there was peace.

The video shows a short clip of Glenn's dominance display.
