I like his granfather, Henry Cabot Lodge the elder, better than him, at least from a distance. He understood the importance of national self-determination when your country is one of the few free countries around.
Regarding the United Nations, Lodge Jr. said "This organization is created to prevent you from going to hell. It isn't created to take you to heaven." Well, the UN is now taking us to hell. Let's get rid of it.

oh I think this guy gave a lot of prestige to the ticket and a lot of people before the election thought that if the Republicans were to end up wining, it would be because his presence on the ticket tipped the scales.

Lodge has always been one of those people in our history that I think wouldve made a great president, had he ever wanted to become it. At a time when the need for strong foreign experience and knowledge was paramount for the presidency, Lodge wouldve been the perfect candidate. Look up his career as an ambassador and you'll see what I mean....It's quite impressive.

a honorable politician and statesman I would have voted for Kennedy and Johnson however I still had a like for Nixon and Lodge. Lodge a true liberal republican too bad the moderates had to be shut out by the ultra conservatives
