Michael LaSane is re-sentenced for the abduction and murder of Middletown, NJ, schoolteacher Kathleen Stanfield Weinstein. The single most compelling piece of evidence that led a jury on March 7 to convict LaSane was a microcassette tape on which Weinstein, 45, of Tinton Falls, secretly recorded 46 minutes of conversation with the teenager who abducted her in her car from the Toms River Shopping Center on Route 37 East.
