Oil continues to impact South Walton Beaches in the Florida Panhandle. Why is this happening? Why are sand dollars stained the same color as BP oil? What impact is the BP oil spill still having on the Gulf Coast over 16 months later? What can be done to stop this disaster? We hope USCG will demand that BP continue clean up efforts on these beautiful beaches.

  • there is no way to clean up this kind of disaster... if mamals and animals have it in their lungs and skin and they cant survive and its obviously attached to shells and imbeded in sand dollars there is no coming back think about it people are sick from just breathing this stuff in from working on cleaning the animals its found in grass and ditches in some areas quite a bit aways from the shore.

  • Imagine how much human and processed waste is being exited into the waters surrounding Florida. If the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has slowed the Gulf Stream in any way, the waste does not circulate away from the Florida peninsula.

  • Its criminal and sick we will never be the same

  • Unusual hues for sand dollars and crabs, indeed. Perhaps we should write Crayola and suggest a new color for our children's crayon boxes: BP "Beach Pollution" Black! Apologies for the "dark" humor, but if I don't try and make myself laugh, I will cry. Keep up the good work!
