Veterans protest $226M in proposed cuts by the Harper Government

Vets are the 99% ! We need to support our vets!!! - Lets Us Not Forget!- Protesters gathered in cities across Canada Saturday to decry proposed cuts by the Harper government to Veterans Affairs that they say will be detrimental to the well-being of the country's service men and women.

Calling soldiers who fought for Canada "a national treasure," the leader of one veterans group led a protest to Parliament Hill that included dozens of veterans.

Protesters are calling on the government to study the plight of the veteran in Canada in light of a proposed $226-million cut to the Veterans Affairs budget.

The veterans worry that the cuts to the department will substantially affect their benefits, despite assurances to the contrary from the government.

My family has vets from WW1 to 'Nam. They've all conveyed to me that war has never been about Freedom, but about the coffers of the rich. It's about the freedom of the rich to fuck everyone who isn't them. I can't accepy that today's vets can't see that; and now they too are accepting the mantle of 'occupation' to beat on the castle walls for crumbs from the tables of the rich. Sad. Have you vets learned nothing at all? You must take from them what was taken from you. See any other way?

Ex Govna Ritter and Rep B.J. Nikkel of the military state of Colorado have taken money from the Veteran's Fund to build 3 new N.G. Readiness Centers here instead of using it to make the vets HEALTHY again! Just sign more up to fight fake wars and destroy lives everywhere.
