My father in law was a liberator pilot and was shot down in one. Took him six months to get out, with the help of the Polish partisans. Nice video, enjoyed seeing one apart up-close and personal, so to speak. He passed a few months ago. Not many of those folks left anymore.
Thank you for the reply, there a few Libs left that are like that, my hats off to them for going the distance!, maybe they'll wheel it out and fire up the P&W's,(great sound from those) Ive flown in the Collings Foundations Lib and it's worth it, a real experience. very graceful aircraft when flying...one day i may post that video.
they did a pass charging the runway at 50ft at full throttle followed by thier B-17 incredible!
@Marauder0090 further, I spoke to a restorer yesterday and the aircraft will be restored to airworthy standards but will not fly due to the insurance and other costs.
A fantastic job the crew at werribee are doing. Would be great to get an update with maybe some official commentary as to where they are at. Great vid.

i believe this would be a RAAF Liberator Mk.III. (U.S. B-24J )..lend lease ..used to hunt Japanese subs.
RAF and the Commonwealth used quite a few Liberators....big question is will this one be airworthy?
