Hardware is 1/4" Stainless x 1 inch long. The commercial rail mounts will be used after we can recover the roof in metal. Lumber is 1 x 4 pressure treated. Each lead block weighs approx 100 lbs at tops of the panels and blocks on bottom weigh about 50 to 75 pounds, a bit smaller.

  • How many pound of lead + panels do you have on that roof??

    Are the roof's rafters 2x4s or 2x6s??

I've got 2x6 rafters and after I pulled down about half the snow off my roof,

I could see it was bowing in, under the weight of the snow..

Do you get any snow there??

    All that lead worries me..

  • @Xringer No snow here to worry about. Roof is solid, circa 1950 construction, designed for hurricane country.

  • Most flat top roof installs are ballast mounted to, so it should work well until it doesn't! lol.
