The first thing they always say is "budget cuts will mean no more teachers, police, firefighters, roads, or bridges!" Crazy idea... why don't you keep the essential services FIRST, and cut from all the OTHER areas where the gov't shouldn't be funneling taxpayer money in the first place?

They're re-doing 220 around Asheboro for the second time in just the last few years! Do it right the first time and save money. They've widened it to federal specs. Umm... ok, that's nice, if we're flush with cash. When you don't have money, that's not a priority.

This video only speaks in half-truths. Maybe if Raleigh stopped wasting taxpayer dollars on slush funds, lobbyist demands, and research programs that do nothing to forward this state's worth; and maybe if the NC "education" lottery actually pushed funding into the school systems, then there would be more cash for education.

That being said, throwing more cash into school systems doesn't equal better quality education.

All of our money is going in road construction. Every where you drive there is new road construction going on. I don't think 140 has never been stopped being worked on or added to. After a while our road infrastructure is going to get so big our roads will be worse than California's. We will not be able to keep up with the repairs and fund our schools at the same time. We the public see the problems why can't you?

I drove a bus when I was a senior in high school. We didn't have the problems with bus drivers like we are having today. We thought it was cool to be a bus driver and get a small pay at the end of the month. We had less problems with the students on the buses and a lot fewer wrecks. If you can trust the protection of our country with an 18 year old with an m16 rifle then why can't you trust him to drive a bus?

My wife works for the school system here in NC. They don't have enough bus drivers to get the students home all at one time. She has to go back to school and get another load of children and drive another route. She is also a teacher's assistant so at getting up at 5 or 6 in the morning driving one sometimes two routes it's past 6 or 7 o'clock before she gets home Then has to teach all day and only makes a fourth of what you make. Plus the students go lacking from burnt out teachers.
